Looking Good

Apparently, the Hawks' Al Harrington wouldn't mind playing for the Bulls.

"The No. 1 thing is (the Bulls) tradition and their history, and then you look at the steps they're taking to get back to that level,'' Harrington said when asked why the Bulls are attractive. "Right now, I would love to be in the situation they're in, where they're fighting for their lives for a playoff spot and they have a very good chance of making it.

I don't have much of an opinion either way on Harrington at the moment. I haven't watched a lot of dazzling Atlanta Hawks basketball lately. Judging by the crowd, or lack thereof , in the ATL last night, they don't much care down there. So why should I? Point is, Harrington is an attractive potential signee. He's big (Bulls need that) and productive (Bulls can always use that). He'd be a solid addition. He doesn't necessarliry jump out at me as a guy who screams break the bank, but maybe I'm missing something. Who knows? If you have a strong opinion on Harrington, let me know.

But there's a bigger picture here. Harrington is a potential big name free agent who likes the Bulls. This is important. It wasn't long ago that the Bulls couldn't get even a sniff of any big name FA. None of them wanted to come here. After Jerry Krause fought with pretty much anyone who had a whole lot to do with winning six titles, Chitown wasn't left looking like a promising destination for dudes looking for an ideal situation.

Then there was that whole thing about following up six titles. That's tough.

If Harrington likes the Bulls, perhaps others do. too. Fix it and they will come.

Nice win in the ATL last night, by the way, in what was a crazy physical game. There were some straight-up muggings in this one. Josh Childress was tossed. How does the skinniest mofo on the court get tossed? That's four wins in a row now and eight of ten. Wizards in town tomorrow night. I can almost hear chants now of NO-CI-ONI! NO-CI-ONI!

Where you at Luol Deng and Chris Duhon? Duke didn't cancel the season of former basketball players. Only dickbag lacrosse clowns. We need you, baby.

Here we go now.
