Bridgeview Is In Business
Although it wasn't technically the "official" home opener (which will take place on June 25), the Fire played in its new Bridgeview stadium for the first time on Sunday night. The game counted in the standings and everything, so I don't know how much more official it could be, but whatever.
Nate Jaqua scored the first two goals ever in Toyota Park, as it will be known, though I refuse to call it anything but Bridgeview Stadium. Amazingly, the Fire blew a 3-1 lead by letting the Revolution score twice in second half injury time and settling for a 3-3 tie. You have got to be kidding me. That's truly awful and unacceptable. Unacceptable!
Let's hope it's not an omen.
