The Sad Saga Continues

Yup, the most depressing story to hit Chicago in years has written yet another chilling chapter. (Though many White Sox fans, I suspect, probably find it hysterical.)

Mark Prior has been - surprise, surprise! - placed on the disabled list and is possibly done for the year. In other words, if he pitches again this season, then look for Jay Mariotti to embrace Ozzie Guillen in the Sox clubhouse.

The sad, sorry saga of Mark Prior and Kerry Wood is so unreal that, had you made it up, I don't think anyone would believe you. Nobody gets injured this much, right? Right? At this point, I think the only humane thing to do would be to take Prior and Wood out behind Wrigley Field and put them down. No poor creature should have to go through such suffering.
