Amber Portwood's Mental Health Struggle

 Anderson, Ind. police responded to a call that indicated that Amber Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life. Ultimately, the Teen Mom star was transported to a local medical facility, where she has been receiving treatment. While the reality TV personality has yet to comment on events of that day, Portwood, 21, did open up to PEOPLE last summer about her struggle with bipolar disorder – a condition characterized by dramatic shifts in mood.
“I take medication,” she said at the time. "I haven't [taken] anything today. Am I acting crazy? This is me though, and I like it."

Portwood, who was shown on the MTV series visiting a therapist shortly after giving birth to her daughter Leah in 2008, said that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder that year, after a particularly depressing time.

At that time, "I was like, 'Screw this day, but I gotta get up for Leah,'" Portwood said of her mindset. "I just thought I was lazy."

Even so, Portwood wasn’t convinced that her diagnosis was accurate.

"I don’t think I'm bipolar, to be honest with you," she said. "I'm just really outgoing. I think everybody thinks they're bipolar these days. You're a teenager, you have hormones. You're gonna switch up every two seconds!"

According to a source, Amber has been in therapy for two years. MTV did not reply to requests for comment.

The troubled "Teen Mother" star took his daughter Leah shopping at a local mall to pick up some new items to the new year. Ms. Port Wood seemed to be spending freely as she received $ 280,000 from her gig on the MTV reality show.

Word has it, "Teen Mother" star has just broken up with her boyfriend, Clinton Yunker, who was discovered at a Buffalo Wild Wings with an other girl. Amber Portwood was released from prison yesterday and now Amber Port Underwood, seek advice Anderson Indiana. The "teen moms" star was spotted leaving the Indiana Health Group facility by appointment held earlier today, December 29.



According to Radar Online, being Ms. Port Underwood reunited with her two year old daughter once afternoon. After was arrested earlier this week, it was reality TV mom ordered not to have any contact with Leah until told to do so.

Once again a free woman, "teen mom" star Amber Port Underwood was released from the Madison County Jail after a 24 hours overnight Tuesday, December 28. The TV star was accompanied by his mother, Tonya Port Underwood and grandmother as the trio left the legal system by Amber's court appearance.


As previously reported by gossip center was Miss Port Underwood was arrested and charged with two counts of a class D felony of violence, neglect and also a misdemeanor for beating up her boyfriend Gary Shirley.




Out on $ 5,000 bail, the incident comes from an episode of the popular MTV show, which was shown pictures of Amber showed up for detention Gary. As her, insiders say that the troubled young woman had to spend the night in jail with four other cell mates and that she slept on the floor on a standard prison mat.
